Sodiq catches his fellow contesting sprinters all asleep on the job, breezed through the tracks and turfs in a pace faster than the speed of light, faster than a minnow can swim a dipper. With his tempo, he could race to the moon quicker than an eye would blinks.
Friday is a glorious day for Tech-U students. The realities exceeded the expectations. There was abundant of triumphs and victories, but Sodiq’s pre-eminence won the day.
It wasn’t at all a coincidence. It is a result of a finely worked out effort. It is a blend of talent and hardwork. An outcome of an indefatigable determination and unflagging enthusiasm. Wherever Sodiq is on the track, others can only compete for the runner-up.
The student of Food Science and Technology would be looking forward to keeping a neat sheet as he goes on again tomorrow to win the ticket to Akoka, Lagos.
At the table tennis court, Sangotunde Taiwo famously known as Dr Tee avenged for Tech-U’s football team against Lautech. He adroitly drained away confidence from his opponents till tremor of hands overcame the Ladokite, forgetting how to even initiate a simple service.
But the Men’s Tennis team were later hurdled by UI and couldn’t make the ticket.
Taekwondo team call out the zeal in them. They boasted to bring home glory and they matched their belligerence with result. More than half of the good-bad gang won spaces at the main event at Unilag.
Remember the David’s humiliation of Goliath story? History seemed to have repeated itself when ‘Tech-U’s David’- Azeezat brought down the ‘Goliaths’ of rival teams.
The small pepper seasoned them with her deft mastery of the upper limbs. She is heading to NUGA with everything: Skills and confidence. In Badminton, she is unplayable.
